CAMPING FEES INCLUDED Note the location: Susquehannock State Park, PA GPS 39.805026, -76.282828
This may be one of the best sites we’ve ever had. It IS dark. NO WHITE LIGHT IS VISIBLE from the surrounding properties. Almost all park lighting at this event will be shielded or shaded with red filters.
The ballfield observing site is a hard-pack turf that won't bend good tent pegs. Even after heavy rains, there was no standing water or mud. Vehicles with small campers left no ruts, and did not have any issues with getting stuck.
The actual gravel parking lot site for buses, RVs or large campers also offers a good observing opportunity and is near the ballfield. NOTE: Some group campsites are utilized frequently by Scout troops, beginning at the woods at the north side of the large RV lot. Visitors to this lot are restricted to the south half of the lot, along the south and west edges.
between the two fields: There are FLUSH TOILETS and a dumpster, a Pavilion with open sides that seats about 80, potable water, a playground, and several BBQ grills. The pavilion may (or may not) be reserved by other groups until 8pm and is available when not reserved.
PLEASE NOTE: THE PARK SUPERVISORS PUT A TRIAL LIMIT OF 100 VEHICLES INTO FORCE, IN ORDER TO PROTECT THIS BEAUTIFUL PARK. There are dozens of restaurants within 10-15 miles. Click the "Food Vendors" link above for a listing-in-progress.
BBQ grills are available, charcoal dump stations are provided, camp stoves are permitted. No on-ground fires permitted.
This is Amish Country. Beware of buggies while driving on these roads
